It’s been a while since I talked about the things I’ve been enjoying so without further ado, here are my spring 2019 favorites.
Television
Killing Eve, Season Two
Killing Eve was one of my favorite TV shows of 2018, so I was excited for it to return. I was a little worried it wouldn’t live up to the hype, but I didn’t need to worry. It’s fantastic. I want to give Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer all the awards. I just can’t take my eyes off them, especially when they are in scenes together.
Fleabag
I’ve seen critics praising about Fleabag since it first premiered, but for some reason just didn’t watch it. Now that season two has come out, the rave reviews (plus something about a hot priest) finally convinced me to give it a go. I just started season two and it’s just as good as everyone says. I love the unique storytelling element of breaking the fourth wall. It adds such a unique boost of humor to the show. Phoebe Waller-Bridge is a true treasure. Not only does she write and act in Fleabag, but she is also one of the brilliant minds behind Killing Eve.
In The Dark
Many of my favorite The CW shows are coming to an end, so I was excited to see a new show on their lineup. In The Dark is about a blind woman, Murphy, who doesn’t quite have her life together. She is a very real and relatable, but my favorite character is actually her roommate, Jess. She’s a great friend, smart, funny and the best part? She’s gay without it being her defining characteristic. *praise hands* I don’t think many people are watching this show, but I’m really glad The CW is taking a chance on it. They even already renewed it for a second season. I can’t wait to see where it goes.
Music
BTS, Map of the Soul: Persona
I’ll honestly be surprised if I can go one blog without mentioning BTS. Of course I’ve been listening to Map of the Soul: Persona nonstop. My favorite track always changes, but right now it’s Mikrokosmos. Seeing that live was in a word: magical. If you are STILL sleeping on this group, wake up!
Carly Rae Jepsen, Dedicated
The queen of pop is back and she brought some bops. I have been listening to this album on repeat since it came out. My favorite tracks so far are Want You In My Room and Everything He Needs. Every song is catchy and begs to be danced to.
Books
Normal People - Sally Rooney

Everyone has been talking about this book and it even made it onto the Women’s Prize for Fiction Longlist 2019. It’s about a couple that walks that delicate balance between friends and something more, but neither is brave enough to say what it is they really want. I found it a really relatable book and the writing style is *chef’s kiss*. I’ll definitely be reading more Sally Rooney.
Podcasts
Sleep With Me

I used to fall asleep listening to music, but for some reason I needed to switch it up. I found Sleep With Me podcast and it has kind of changed my sleep. The host, Drew Ackerman, mostly just rambles and tells stories to help you fall asleep. Usually I can fall asleep before the intro is even over. It’s just very relaxing and gives my brain something to focus on besides the inner ramblings of my mind.
K-pop Daebak w/ Eric Nam

I actually discovered this show is a very roundabout way, having no idea Eric Nam was a K-pop artist. The basic premise of the show Eric Nam talking about his favorite three K-pop songs of the week. He also gives listeners a behind-the-scenes look at what it's like being an idol in Korea, which might actually be my favorite part. It's really interesting to hear insights on the world of K-pop, from creating songs to crazy press and practice schedules. Sidenote, you should also definitely check out Eric Nam's music. His new single, Runaway, is grrreat.
Random
Hanes Black Tees

I’ll let you in on a little secret: clothes targeted at men are way cheaper than clothes targeted at women. Because of this I often wander into the men’s section at Target. I recently decided to try out those four packs of Hanes Crew-Neck Tees as sleep/lounge shirts and wow, are they amazing. They are super comfortable just regular old crew neck t-shirts. Plus they were only $20 for four! What luxury.
New York Times Crossword Puzzle App

I randomly downloaded the New York Times Crossword Puzzle app and I have been loving the daily mini puzzles. They are just a quick brain exercise to do every day. I don't have patience for full-size crosswords, but these are the perfect daily bite-size portion.
That's it! Just a few of the many things I've been jiving with the past few months. Hopefully I can make these a more regular thing. Let me know if there's anything I should be checking out.
